throamsuggestion:

make plans to keep the gay roadie on the European Tour (which will make you rich) because he does a good job of convincing the moody lead singer to get his ass on stage

Since it’s pride month do not put the nazi pink triangle on my dash, especially if you’re not Jewish.

It was used to label gay jews/pedophiles in concentration camps and its really disrespectful to try to reclaim it if you’re not jewish. I can’t think of one reason you would even want to.

It’s not hard to understand that while yes, gay people were targeted in the holocaust, the gay community doesn’t bear those scars today. Our population will likely NEVER recover to pre-Shoah levels. Ever. The goal was to wipe out every single Jewish person from the face of the earth.

Not to minimize what gay people went through, but the end goal was to remove groups seen as anti-social from Germany. Gay men in Germany were seen as a threat to the sanctity of the German nuclear family, and therefore a threat to the preservation and continuance of the so-called German master race. It’s crucial not to forget that, because it helps underscore the difference in modern day impact.

I seriously cannot understate the level of impact that the holocaust still has on us today–not just in that so many of us, we were raised with survivors accessible. But it is truly an inter-generational trauma, and has deeply and fundamentally changed the Jewish experience and what it means to be Jewish.

I don’t think a lot of gentiles truly understand not just the emotional impact these symbols have, but that it was so recent. The (amazing, wonderful) woman than my daughter is named after, who lived with us from when I was four until she passed away when I was eleven, survived the holocaust. It’s not distant history in any way.

I wish I could say I was at all surprised at the amount of goyische nonsense in the notes, screaming about how they have a right to ~reclaim~ something most of them didn’t even know was a thing for most their lives (l m a o) but it’s pretty typical that we’re here bleeding and goyim see that and decided it looks cool.

It’s one thing to use the pink triangle in a historical context, but another to use it for edgy points. Stop.

ok i think ive come up with a playlist that encompasses all known uniquely human experiences:

“arsonists lullaby” by hozier, “closer” by nine inch nails, “running up that hill (a deal with god)” by kate bush, and “loveshack” by the B-52s.

these experiences are, of course: arson, horny depression, 3 am manic episode trying to bargain with god, and when youve got you a car thats as big as a whale and youre heading on down to the love shack
